ABOUT THIS DEMONSTRATION

EpiLink · a hospital you can follow.

This English prototype uses eight independent synthetic patient cases and fictional department staff. Clinical care is on L1; eight experimental-research departments are on L0. The spherical EpiKB knowledge elevator connects the two floors. Its up and down controls move the cab and enter the destination; its title opens knowledge, synthetic cases and reference links. Both floors reveals two decks and their knowledge node. Clinical Research, EHR and supporting teams remain virtual service workspaces. EHR source records and EpiKB knowledge remain separate, linked workspaces. A referral does not establish study eligibility, consent or enrollment. Department names can switch between floating labels and floor placards; floating labels are the default. Patient avatars match the 3D characters. Team profiles include a portrait and fictional role description. Case review defaults to a short summary with result tables; full reports, research and history are separate tabs. Patient 360 opens a full-window case review with source reports, genetics, consultation history, research notes and missing information. The drug library separates clinical medication examples from investigational programs. Department label controls remain visible in every scene; choosing labels from an animation returns to Lab view. Each research department opens its own four-scene illustrative animation, with a Lab view option to return to the workplace. Full screen expands the scene and case sidebar together; Escape exits. The hospital uses perspective WebGL geometry with orbit, zoom and pan controls. Visits and turnaround times are compressed.

Clinical–research continuity

An unresolved case creates a referral with its own ID, completed report IDs and question. After a scripted participation discussion, the research review runs and returns a brief to the same clinical case. Other patients continue through their own pathways.

The SCN1A research story

SCN1A DEMO-V1 is a fictional missense finding with no HGVS, residue or functional score. All channel, membrane, molecular-motion and ligand geometry is conceptual. No structures, trajectories, binding poses, scores or patient benefits are calculated.

The small-molecule example uses clobazam and a GABA_A receptor schematic, a different target from Nav1.1. A possible compensating pathway remains a hypothesis; it does not prove why a person responds. No dose or prescription is provided.

Source and implementation scope

The previous v3 storyline, clinical report structure and molecular visual concepts inform this version. The scene renderer and multi-patient simulation were replaced to support independent staff, room queues and true camera controls. Small omics illustrations reuse the earlier R-generated simulated figures and do not validate any case.

No hospital system, live EHR, live EpiKB service, real clinical team, research job or live model is connected. This is not an official Cedars-Sinai service. The separately referenced email chat has not been read with the available tools. Publication remains pending under the user's no-push instruction.
